Monitoring the overall progress of your team is essential in a multi-collaborative environment. The progress of the task can be tracked at all the levels such as Organization, Workspace and Application but a task can be created only at the Workspace or Application level. The progress of the task can be tracked by going to the task tab in the Organization, Workspace and Application view.
This view has a tree style view to show task in hierarchy with 5 columns in left hand side view.
Name:
Name of task.
Assignee:
User to whom the task is assigned.
Due:
Date on which task should be complete.
Status:
Current status of task. There can be three possible statuses of a task that is Assigned, In-Progress and Complete. The status of the task is Assigned when the task is created and assigned to a user. Using the task action in "Manage" column, user can mark the task as "In-Progress", to indicate to team members that he/she is actively working on that task. Once all work on task is complete, a user can mark the task as Complete. Also one call roll back the status of the task from completed to assign if required.
An Assignee can mark the status directly as Complete just after the assigned status, skipping the In-Progress status.
The statuses of the Task can be marked and controlled by the Assignee or by the Administrator of the Organization, Workspace or Application depending on which level you have created the Task.
Manage:
Actions that can be performed on task.
Managing Task Status:
It's only when the status of the task is Assigned, you get an option to mark it as In-Progress. It can be seen from the following picture that the Task 02 has status as Assigned, and has got option to mark it as Complete or In-Progress. With the tick icon the Task can be marked as Complete and the icon next to it, is for marking the Task as In-Progress (highlighting arrow shows the In-progress icon).
When the status of the Task is In-progress, then you get only one option that is to mark it as Complete.
When the task is marked as completed, it means that the Assignee has completed the task. To roll back the status of the Task from Completed to Assigned, click on the highlighted arrow (On Task 04).
